Sending money from MTN to Vodafone (now Telecel) has become possible due to the new interoperability services.
The interoperability services allows MTN Mobile Money and Vodafone Cash (now Telecel Cash) customers to pay at each other’s merchant point of sale.
So if you want the steps to send money from your MTN momo account to Vodafone cash, below are the steps to follow;
- Dial *170#
- Select Option 1 to ‘Transfer Money’
- Select 5 for ‘Other Networks’
- Select the ‘Receiving Network’ (i.e.Vodafone)
- Enter the ‘Vodafone or Telecel Mobile Number’
- Confirm ‘Mobile Number’
- Enter ‘Amount’
- Enter ‘Reference ID’
- Enter ‘Mobile Money Pin Code’
- Sender and Receiver get a MoMo notification for a successful transfer
Note that the fee charged for sending money from MTN momo to a Vodafone cash is relatively higher than sending from MTN momo to another MTN momo account.
